Big Lines, Badass Women

One of the things that I realized when I started to compete in Big Mountain skiing a few years ago was how amazing the other women on the tour were. It got me to thinking about how many other women there are out there pushing the limits of our respective sports, bodies, and minds. I have since stopped competing, but I am still adventuring and filming with Meathead Films here on the East Coast, and so I am always keeping an eye out for other women like me. In my previous post, I highlited an up and coming nonprofit called SheJumps that works to empower women and give them the skills and passion to get out and challenge themselves. To grow, we all need mentors, even the best of us. For this reason I have decided to do a series of blog posts highlighting different women from around the world who I think are really expanding the idea of what women are capable of. In this post I am highlighting an Italian extreme skier named Giulia Monego who makes an appearance in the first Powder Magazine "Turns and Curves" Episode. The serise will highlight women doing radical things in the backcountry. Check the full article out at Powder Magazine Online. In this episode, Giulia explores couloirs in the Dolomites, a trip I have always wanted to do. The last time I was in the Dolomites I was doing some Via Ferrata, but I am not a climber. To go and ski some of the lines in this film would be amazing. I enjoyed this espisode and I look forward to more from "Turns and Curves." I hope you enjoy this as well. Look forward to more Big Lines, Badass Women.
